Beautiful Textures Curl Control Defining Pudding Review

When it comes to hair styles and products I’m pretty low maintenance but I was in the mood to try something new. So I decided to try a twist out using the Beautiful Textures Curl Control Pudding.  The product is meant to define and elongate curls, coils, and waves. It’s also meant to control frizz.

For starters, this product smells delicious!! It’s a tropical fruity scent that smells like heaven.

I wet and parted my hair in about 8 sections. I applied the the Curl Control with my fingers and  evenly distributed the product from the roots to the ends. I did a two strand twist and let it air dry overnight.

When I separated the twists, my waves were perfectly defined and moisturized. My hair was very soft and full of body, not crunchy at all.

I only used this product from the line as I didn’t  use any additional products from the line to get the results I got.

The Curl Control pudding is very affordable, I purchased it from Sally’s Beauty Supply for $6.99. Overall, I’m very pleased with the product and the results of my hair!!

Day 2 of the twist out and I did absolutely NOTHING to my hair the night before

Mac Up the Amp Lipstick Review

Mac Up The Amp retails for $14.50

I have to do a quick review on this lipstick as this has to be one of my faves!!! Up the Amp is absolutely gorgeous and the name speaks for itself. If you’re looking for a vibrant pop of color, then this lipstick is a must have. Even though it’s a bold color, its very wearable and it will look good on any skin tone. The lavenderish/pinkish color looks stunning on. The consistency is very creamy and not drying to the lips at all. It’s also an amplified finish. This is my first amplified finish lipstick and I have to say its hands down my favorite finish now. If you really want to knock em dead, pair the lipstick with a purple/magenta lip liner. To pretty sum it all up, this lip color is all that and a bag of chips!!

Elf Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths Review

When it comes to makeup remover wipes, I usually swear by the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes however while I was at Target to pick up some more, I decided to try the Elf Studio Makeup Remover Wipes for $3.00. Surprisingly these wipes are awesome!!

ELF claims….
Gently and easily cleans skin to remove all traces of makeup and dirt, even waterproof mascara. Great for on-the-go travel. Gentle cloths are soft and soothing for even the most sensitive skin. Infused with Aloe Vera Extract for deep hydration and moisture. 20 Pre-moistened cloths included.

Even though it comes in a small packaging, the wipe is full size and it only take 1 to remove my makeup
Why I like these wipes so much…..

  • The wipes remove my makeup with ease (especially my kohl eyeliner and mascara) as I don’t have to scrub to get my makeup off.

  • The wipes don’t dry out and stay very moist in the packaging.

  • They are very moisturizing and hydrating to my face, not leaving my face feeling dry.

  • The wipes haven’t caused any breakouts or irritations.

  • It takes 1 wipe to remove all of my makeup.

  • They’re inexpensive.. $3.00 for 20 wipes.. .15 per wipe.

  • Packaging is small and compact, perfect for travel.

Now I don’t know if I’m ready to kick my Neutrogena wipes completely to the curb but I have to say that the ELF wipes are definitely giving Neutrogena's a run for their money.

Milani Lip Flash Pencils

These lip pencils are absolutely gorgeous!!! They’re lip pencils that can be worn as a lip liner or a lipstick….I personally wear mine as a lip stick.

Their consistency is so creamy, they don’t tug at your lips when being applied nor does it dry your lips out. Now let’s talk about the color. The color pay off is wonderful!! The colors are pigmented and vibrant with a hint of shimmer. The shimmer isn’t too much and not too little, it’s the right amount making it perfect to wear for Summer.

left to right: In a Flash, Flashy, Flash Light

I have to say that I was impressed with two things with these lip pencils. First, they're very long lasting. The color lasts on my lips for about 5 hours before any touch ups are needed. Secondly, they provide full coverage to the lips with a glossy finish. I really love these pencils as I think they’re great and fun for the Summer. I purchased my pencils from Walgreen's for $6.99.
FLASHY: Fuchsia color
FLASH LIGHT: Orange/ Coral color

IN A FLASH: Magenta/ Purple color

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser & Moisturizer

Properly taking care of your skin is actually more important than applying makeup itself. I have been asked time and time again what skincare products I use on my face. About a month ago I changed my face regiment to the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer and I couldn't be happier with the results. I first want to give a BIG disclaimer: everyone's skin types are different and you have to find the right product that is formulated for your skin type. What works for me might not work for you as your results may differ. I'm just simply sharing what products do work for me.

I use Cetaphil Facial Cleanser for normal to oily skin. I really like this cleanser because the consistency is so light. When I first used it I wondered would it really clean well because of the consistency...well it does. My problem with most facial cleansers are that they are way too harsh on my face, leaving my face completely dry however the Cetaphil cleanser is very gentle. It leaves my face feeling very soft and cleaned. It does have a slight fragrance however nothing overpowering. Even though it's pretty pricey as I bought mine from Walgreens for $10.00, its completely worth it.

In conjunction with the facial cleanser I use the Cataphil Daily Facial Moisturizer for all skin types. It also has spf15, which is a plus. Contrary to what one might believe, no matter what your skin type is, a facial moisturizer should be used daily. I have combination skin, with my T-Zone being very oily. Since using this moisturizer I can say that my face doesn't get as oily as it used to. It doesn't leave my face feeling greasy as it really absorbs very well into my skin. The moisturizer is very lightweight as I haven't had any breakouts nor has it clogged my pores. This product is also $10 from Walgreens.

These 2 products absolutely rock!!  When I finish using these two together, I love the way my face looks and feels!!

Jessica Simpson Fancy Love Perfume

3.4 oz eau de parfum $55

When it comes to perfumes Im not the biggest collector, I probably use the same 2 perfumes the whole year. However I was looking for a new fragrance for Spring/Summer. For those that don’t know me I’m absolutely addicted to home shopping networks such as shopnbc.com, hsn.com, and qvc.com. I was watching shopnbc one evening and everything was 5 value pays (value pays are where you pay for the item equally over so many payments…interest free)!! So I decided to find a perfume. I researched and read reviews on numerous perfumes but when I came across the Jessica Simpson- Fancy Love the reviews were very positive. So needless to say I bought a perfume before even smelling it…who does that? J But boy am I happy I did.

This perfume smells so darn good!!! I absolutely adore this perfume!! It smells so good that I catch myself sniffing myself throughout the day. It’s a very light fragrance, not overpowering but still makes a statement. It’s a very fresh, creamy floral scent. Of course, perfumes smell different on different people but Fancy Love smells very sweet and powdery on my skin. When I smell this perfume, I think of a romantic picnic at the park. This perfume has definitely become my go to smell and I would recommend this perfume to any one that is looking for a light, romantic, feminine smell.

E by Evelyn Lozada Cosmetics Review

You might know Evelyn Lozada as the "villain" of the VH1 hit reality show BasketBallWives. Evelyn has not only made her name by being a reality star but also as an author and launching her new cosmetic line, E by Evelyn Lozada.

I've heard many good things about her line so I was interested to check it out for myself. I purchased her 36 "Smoke It Out" palette for $24.95 at ebyevelyncosmetics.com. I was first impressed with the delivery time, as I received my package in 3 days. When I opened the palette I really liked the colors and the variety provided, it's a mixture of matte, shimmer, and metallic colors. I played makeup over the weekend using the palette and I have to say that the palette definitely gets a thumbs up. It's everything that you look for in a quality eyeshadow, colors are very vibrant, pigmented, and long lasting. The eyeshadows aren't chalky and goes on with ease. I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with the palette and I will purchasing more from this line in the future. Good job Evelyn!!

Sigma Brush Review

I have been on the hunt  for a new Stippling Brush so I bought one from Sigma along with some other brushes.

F80- Flat Top Kabuki Brush

I am so in love with this brush, where should I begin? The bristles on the brush are sooo soft and it feels so good on my face. They are also short and very dense wish allows the foundation to go on very even and not streaky. The brush is a perfect size, not too big and not too small as it buffs the foundation into your face providing a flawless finish. I love this brush so much that I will be purchasing another one for back up and another for my makeup kit as I know my clients will love it too. This is a must have brush. Consider buying this brush as an investment, its a perfect brush whether you're a beginner or a professional makeup artist.
Price: $16.00

F50- Duo Fiber Stippling Brush

This is initially what I intended on using and loving. This brush is considered to be the dupe to the Mac 187 brush (which is $42). The bristles are not as dense at the Mac but very workable. I’ve used this brush about four times and every time the brush shed pretty badly. Overall, the brush is just ok in my opinion.
Price: $18.00

F35- Tapered Highlighter

I really like this brush primarily for the egg shape of the bristles. I have to admit this brush is very soft as well. I use this brush everyday and I really like it. This brush can be used to highlight your cheek bones and the tip of the brush can be used to contour the hollows of your checks and along your nose. Overall this is a very good brush and is worth buying.
Price:$16.00

E40- Tapered Blending Brush

I absolutely love blending brushes. I think that having a nicely blended eye is the key to having a great eye look. The bristles on this brush aren’t that dense which makes it harder for the brush to blend darker colors. However, it does blend lighter colors together wonderfully.
Price: $11.00

E05- Eyeliner

I received this brush as a free gift. I haven’t used this brush yet but it looks like your standard eyeliner brush, nothing too fancy
Price: $9.00

Overall I was very happy with my Sigma purchase but even happier to have gotten the F80 brush. I think the brushes are a great quality especially for the price. Remember, the Mac brush was a whooping $42!!! Here I bought 5 brushes for $65.00 and I don't feel as though I settled for these brushes. The bristles on the brush are very soft, the brushes are very sturdy and professional looking. I will definitely be buying more brushes from them in the future.
