Trend Alert: Stiletto Nail

One of the newest nail trends is the stiletto nail. Stiletto nails are long, tapered, and sharpened into a triangular tip.

I haven't worn acrylic nails in years!! but I've been so excited to try this nail trend.

I decided to try the trend but i opted for less of a triangular tip and had it filed more round. I love my nails as they are very edgy and trendy.

More pics of stiletto nails.....

These look dangerous

Definitely not a fan of this shape
After seeing Rhianna with these nails...I feel in love
I like these..they're cute
I think these are hot!!

How To Get Kissable Lips

No matter what the season is I suffer from dry lips. I use the products below to ensure that my lips are moisturized and are always ole so kissable!!

1. Exfoliate your lips with a lip scrub by using a toothbrush. Try Bethenny Frankel's lip scrub to get rid of dead skin and to smooth the lips.

2. Apply lip balm to prevent chapped and flaky lips. I love EOS lip balm as it keeps my lips very hydrated with organic ingredients such as shea butter and jojoba oil.

3. Apply a lip stick and/or lip gloss that is not drying to the lips. Revlon's Lip Butters is a great combination of a balm and gloss combined. The lip butters leave your lips feeling moisturized but also provides a sheer to medium coverage lip color....

Now a lip wouldn't be kissable if it wasn't red right? Revlon's Lip Butter in Cherry Tart is a beautiful and very wearable red.

Find your favorite lip color and PUCKER UP!!!!

Golden Goddess

This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with two very talented ladies. I did makeup for the owner of Croshayme. She croshays beautiful earrings, head wraps, etc. Check her out at www.croshayme.com

Capturing the beauty was photographer extraordinaire, Audria Arnold. I tell you the girl is a beast with the camera. Make sure you check more of her work out at www.audriaarnold.com.

I love this look because I love her golden, sun kissed glow. This was achieved by using ELF Body Glow.

Found at Target or www.eyeslipsface.com $6
It provides a beautiful golden hue that can be worn on your shoulders, neck, arms, or legs. This color is so gorgeous that the camera doesn't do it any justice.

I absolutely love this body glow as its the right amount of shimmer and it looks gorgeous on women of color. The powder is lightweight and blends onto the skin very well. So if you're looking for that product that will give your body that added golden goddess sparkle...then this is for you!

My Summer Wish List

Recently my blogger friend, www.diariesofawannaberichkid.blogspot.com posted a pretty cool blog talking about items that she couldn't wait to add to her closet. Reading her blog got me thinking of what items I was dying to have.

Tory Burch Rena Flats

I am crazily obsessed with these flats. As much as I love my high heel pumps, I love my flats more. These flats are classic and will be a great addition to my shoe collection. I might be making a splurge on these when I go to Vegas in a couple of weeks.

"Love" Necklace

This necklace is just absolutely adorable; I'm really a fan of jewelry pieces that have affirmation sayings. This necklace will look perfect being worn alone or layered with other necklaces.

Maxi Dresses

Now I have a TON of maxi dresses but I want more! Maxi dresses are great because they are so multi purposeful. You can dress it up with a sexy pair of wedges or you can dress it down with a cute pair of flats. Maxi dresses are so light weight that they are perfect for the summer season. What I especially love about them is that are quick / cute outfits to put on when running some errands.

Graftobian Color Corrector Palette

With so much going on in my life as of lately (which is a good thing) I don't get a lot of rest. The result of that is dark under eye circles. I’m excited to try this corrector palette as the peach tone color will assist in cancelling out the darkness under my eyes. It will also be a great addition to my makeup kit.

OCC Lip Tar- Belladonna

I have heard so many great things about this cosmetic line, especially their lip tars. I can’t wait to purchase the shade Belladonna as it's a perfect ultraviolet shade. Defiantly a must have color for summer.

Zuca Train Case

I have a makeup train case that's really nice however I’m drooling over this train case by Zuca. This is like the Benz of makeup train cases. It's very spacious allowing you to carry all your makeup with no problem. Even though it's pretty expensive, for the quality you'll be receiving...it’s worth it. This might need to go under my Christmas wish list :)

What's on your wish list?

QUIANA'S QUESTION QORNER: IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT MY EYESHADOW LAST LONGER?

Yes there is. There are a couple of reasons why your eyeshadow might not be lasting. It could be the quality of the eyeshadow, oily eyelids, and/or the constant movement of your eyelid. An eye primer resolves these issues as it coats the eyelids so the eyeshadow can be applied on a smooth, even surface. An eye primer also prevents the eyeshadow from creasing, it helps the eyeshadow to last longer and it helps to make the colors more vibrant.

Below are some of my favorite eyeshadow primers:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk

NYX Eyeshadow Base

MAC Paint Pot in Painterly

Wedge Sneakers: HOT or NOT?

Isabel Marant $760.....sold out
One of the newest shoe trends is the wedge sneakers. Yes you heard me right, a shoe that is meant to be comfortable like a sneaker but fashionable like a wedge. Celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Beyonce, and Tracey Ellis Ross have been seen rocking this shoe trend by Isabel Marant for $760!!!!

There are other designers that have created their version of the shoe as well for cheaper.

Marc Jacobs $320...sold out...waiting list
www.asos.com $193....sold out

At first sight, I was really feeling the sneaker wedge and I went on a hunt for them, which was very difficult. Either the shoe was way too much and/or sold out. But I found a version of the shoe from Macys for $64.

But as I was thinking more about this shoe, I began to talk myself out of buying it. Mainly because this shoe is way too trendy, I honestly don't see it being "in" for more than a couple of seasons....and that's being generous. I like to stay current with the trends but I want my pieces to be able to be "in style" for a while. The sneaker wedge reminds me of the Manolo Blahnik Timberland boot and the sneaker heels....a trend that didn't last long. If you ever owned a pair of those, I'm pretty sure you've thrown them out by now.

Either a sneaker is a sneaker or a wedge is a wedge, I don't think the two should marry. Even though I was initially on the band wagon, I think this is a shoe that I would look back on and say "what was I thinking?"

I would love to hear your thoughts, is the wedge sneaker, hot or not?
