DIY: Wedding Card Box

Here's another fun and simple DIY project, it's not beauty related but in lieu of the wedding season, I decided to share anyway.

My mom got married this weekend and I wanted to add a personalized touch to the wedding so I decided to make her a wedding card box.
Hope you guys enjoy!!

Materials I used:

(2) paper mache boxes
Glue gun
Self adhesive rhinestones
Self adhesive pearls
Ribbon
Scissors
Artificial sunflowers
(2) cans of black spray paint
Pre cut cardboard letters
Sand paper

Step 1: Begin by spraying an even coat of paint on the boxes and the lids.

Step 2: Once the paint dries, cut a slit on the top lid. (I don’t know the exact measurements however I used an actual card envelope as my reference). After cutting the slit, sand it smooth and touch it up with a little more paint.

Step 3: Once the paint dries again, glue the bottom of the top box to the top of the bottom lid…hope that wasn’t confusing.

Step 4: Cut a hole where the two glued boxes are joined togehter so the cards can fall from the smaller top box into the larger bottom box.

From here you can begin to decorate the box as you wish. The flowers of the wedding were sunflowers so I wanted to incorporate that flower as well as the color scheme onto my box.

Step 5: I glued pre cut/decorated letters to the bottom box reading: CARDS.

Step 6: I applied the self adhesive pearls on top of the top lid.

Step 7: I traced the letter “T” (which is the initial of my mom’s new last name) with a pencil and applied the self adhesive rhinestones along the traced letter.

Step 8: I cut the stems off the sunflowers and glued the flowers to the bottom lid.

Step 9: Finishing the box off, I glued the yellow ribbon to the base of the top box.
I loved the way the card box turned out and most importantly I’m glad I could create something special for such a memorable occasion.

If you have a wedding coming up or know someone getting married, give it a try!!

Bold, Colored Lips: HOT or NOT?

Once upon a time wearing a red lip was considered bold but now lips colors such as blue, green, and yellow are being worn. Is this hot or not? Would you wear it??

The Cosmetic Company Store

Hey guys!!

Sorry I've been gone for sooo long but I'm baacck and boy do I have some great things to share with you!!

This week I spent a very relaxing family vacation in the Smoky Mountains in Gatlingburg, TN.

We decided to go to the outlet mall and I stumbled across a store called The Cosmetic Company Store. I never heard of this store before but when I went in I was pleasantly surprised.

It's a store that stocks discounted makeup, skincare, brushes, and perfume from the Estee Lauder line, such as Bobbi Brown and yes even MAC!!!

Of course I went directly to the MAC display. There I found many products from previous collections as well as products from their permanent line.

The store reminds me of a TJ Maxx for makeup. The products are the real thing and the prices are about 30% cheaper than retail price.

The Cosmetic Company Store are found in outlet malls, so if you don't have this store near you, look for one when you go out of town as this visit will definitely be worth your while.

Here's what I bought. Absolutely loving the 222 blending brush

Beautiful Textures Curl Control Defining Pudding Review

When it comes to hair styles and products I’m pretty low maintenance but I was in the mood to try something new. So I decided to try a twist out using the Beautiful Textures Curl Control Pudding.  The product is meant to define and elongate curls, coils, and waves. It’s also meant to control frizz.

For starters, this product smells delicious!! It’s a tropical fruity scent that smells like heaven.

I wet and parted my hair in about 8 sections. I applied the the Curl Control with my fingers and  evenly distributed the product from the roots to the ends. I did a two strand twist and let it air dry overnight.

When I separated the twists, my waves were perfectly defined and moisturized. My hair was very soft and full of body, not crunchy at all.

I only used this product from the line as I didn’t  use any additional products from the line to get the results I got.

The Curl Control pudding is very affordable, I purchased it from Sally’s Beauty Supply for $6.99. Overall, I’m very pleased with the product and the results of my hair!!

Day 2 of the twist out and I did absolutely NOTHING to my hair the night before
