ELF HD Blush First Impression and Swatches

When I heard that ELF released (5) HD blush I knew I had to try them out. Now when it comes to ELF products they can be hit or miss but these blushes are definitely a hit!!Upon opening the package I noticed how small they were but when I realized how little goes a long way, the size was no longer a concern. The packaging is very sleek and I really like that it has a pump as it’s sanitary and it allows you to control how much product you get.

Colors left to right: Diva (bright pink), Encore (vibrant rose), Showstopper (deep plum). Purchased for $3 at www.eyeslipsface.com

The colors are absolutely gorgeous and EXTREMELY pigmented, in fact they may be a little too pigmented. They  defintely need to be applied with a light hand because when I say a little goes along way I mean literally all you need is a tiny dot of product and that will be enough for both cheeks.

The ELF HD Blush are very comparable to the Makeup Forever HD Blush, $26. The packaging is similar, they’re both named “hd blush,” and the quality of the product is the same if not better. These blushes are definitely worth trying especially as they are very pigmented, light weight, sanitary packaging, and inexpensive.

Wedge Sneaker Follow Up

A couple of months ago, I wrote a post about the latest shoe trend..the wedge sneaker. To sum it up, I said that this shoe was not worth buying. Since then I have had a change of heart. This shoe has become even more poplar since it's debut and they are virtually in every shoe store.

So after seeing them everywhere, they grew on me and I jumped on the band wagon and got me a pair. And can you believe I love them??! Yes, I love them!! They’re cute and extremely comfortable. I get compliments every time I wear them. I pair them with my leggings and they instantly turn a drab outfit into a fashionable one. So I’m here to say that I am indeed a fan of the wedge sneaker.

This shoe started off by being made by high end designers but the shoe can now be purchased at an extremely affordable price. I purchased mine from gojane.com for $25. The shoes below are all less than $50, so with that being said go and buy yourself a pair :)

Rihanna's Lion Head Necklace

As we all know, Rhianna is notorious for her funky fashions and accessories. Recently I saw her wearing this chunky gold plated lion head necklace. Once I saw it I knew I had to have this necklace in my life!!

Rihanna is rocking her necklace from www.melodyehsani.com for $69.00, I wasn’t willing to spend that much on the necklace so I went to Ebay and purchased mine for $19 (which included the shipping). I opted for the hematite finish as I favored that one over the gold. I love this necklace as it adds a touch of bad ass to any ensemble.

My lion head necklace from Ebay for $19

Lip Combo: MAC Violetta & NYX African Queen

Mac Violetta is a beautiful violet/pinkish color with an amplified finish. I love that its not too dark of a purple, making you look too vampy but it's the perfect shade of purple to brighten any look. Violetta is very pigmented and not drying. This color is gorgeous for fall and will look great on any complexion. Retails for $14.50

NYX African Queen is a deep fuchsia color. The gloss is of great quality as it's applies smoothly and isn't sticky at all. African Queen  looks beautiful being worn alone or over lipstick. Retails for $4.99

I absolutely love this lip combo as it adds that POP of color that can be worn during the day or night.

DIY: Wedding Card Box

Here's another fun and simple DIY project, it's not beauty related but in lieu of the wedding season, I decided to share anyway.

My mom got married this weekend and I wanted to add a personalized touch to the wedding so I decided to make her a wedding card box.
Hope you guys enjoy!!

Materials I used:

(2) paper mache boxes
Glue gun
Self adhesive rhinestones
Self adhesive pearls
Ribbon
Scissors
Artificial sunflowers
(2) cans of black spray paint
Pre cut cardboard letters
Sand paper

Step 1: Begin by spraying an even coat of paint on the boxes and the lids.

Step 2: Once the paint dries, cut a slit on the top lid. (I don’t know the exact measurements however I used an actual card envelope as my reference). After cutting the slit, sand it smooth and touch it up with a little more paint.

Step 3: Once the paint dries again, glue the bottom of the top box to the top of the bottom lid…hope that wasn’t confusing.

Step 4: Cut a hole where the two glued boxes are joined togehter so the cards can fall from the smaller top box into the larger bottom box.

From here you can begin to decorate the box as you wish. The flowers of the wedding were sunflowers so I wanted to incorporate that flower as well as the color scheme onto my box.

Step 5: I glued pre cut/decorated letters to the bottom box reading: CARDS.

Step 6: I applied the self adhesive pearls on top of the top lid.

Step 7: I traced the letter “T” (which is the initial of my mom’s new last name) with a pencil and applied the self adhesive rhinestones along the traced letter.

Step 8: I cut the stems off the sunflowers and glued the flowers to the bottom lid.

Step 9: Finishing the box off, I glued the yellow ribbon to the base of the top box.
I loved the way the card box turned out and most importantly I’m glad I could create something special for such a memorable occasion.

If you have a wedding coming up or know someone getting married, give it a try!!

Bold, Colored Lips: HOT or NOT?

Once upon a time wearing a red lip was considered bold but now lips colors such as blue, green, and yellow are being worn. Is this hot or not? Would you wear it??

The Cosmetic Company Store

Hey guys!!

Sorry I've been gone for sooo long but I'm baacck and boy do I have some great things to share with you!!

This week I spent a very relaxing family vacation in the Smoky Mountains in Gatlingburg, TN.

We decided to go to the outlet mall and I stumbled across a store called The Cosmetic Company Store. I never heard of this store before but when I went in I was pleasantly surprised.

It's a store that stocks discounted makeup, skincare, brushes, and perfume from the Estee Lauder line, such as Bobbi Brown and yes even MAC!!!

Of course I went directly to the MAC display. There I found many products from previous collections as well as products from their permanent line.

The store reminds me of a TJ Maxx for makeup. The products are the real thing and the prices are about 30% cheaper than retail price.

The Cosmetic Company Store are found in outlet malls, so if you don't have this store near you, look for one when you go out of town as this visit will definitely be worth your while.

Here's what I bought. Absolutely loving the 222 blending brush
